Our church blesses us with the opportunity to try out missions during shorter supported stints. This time it is all about foreign church planting … in Namibia. We plan to support an Every Nation church and campus ministry in Swakopmund, Namibia. Recently, I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s + PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) - neurodegenerative conditions. Like my life, I have also (on good authority!) submitted my illnesses in the Lord’s hands and plans (Luke 22:42) and I am actively engaged with local Christian counselors, who worked with PSP/Parkinson’s before. Last semester, Parkinson’s disease placed an abrupt (and, for my retirement, premature, but spiritually necessary), stop to my career as a Professor of HRM / Associate Dean / Chair of the HRM program / MBA Director at universities in the Arabian Gulf States. I am now a retiree in the Moot, Pretoria, Tshwane. I feel, in view of my PSP & Parkinson’s disease, that this could be my last church mission trip when I am personally able to consciously answer the Lord’s call. The cost of this mission is R10,000 (about US$ 550 or AED 2000) per person. ANY contribution or prayer support is welcome - please send me a message if you need more detail! Or, if you would like to just donate, use the attached form. If your kind support delivers more funds than the target, we will support others for the same mission - up to 15 people may be going.
